Come and join The The Pilot Club, ZHU and ZME as we head east from Austin to Memphis.
As we prepare for our flight from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas, to Memphis International Airport in Memphis, Tennessee, we will be covering a distance of approximately 500 nautical miles.
This journey promises to take us through diverse landscapes and rich cultural experiences.
Upon our departure from Austin, we will take off and be greeted by the vibrant city skyline, which includes iconic structures like the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas.
As we ascend, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country, characterized by its rolling hills, lush greenery, and picturesque lakes. The unique landscape of Austin, with its blend of urban and natural beauty, will provide a stunning backdrop as we leave the city behind.
As we fly northeast, we will traverse the expansive plains of Texas, eventually entering into the lush, forested areas of Arkansas. The flight will delight us with views of sprawling farmland and winding rivers, showcasing the natural beauty of the southern United States.
If we’re lucky, we might catch glimpses of the Ouachita Mountains, where the terrain begins to rise.
Approaching Memphis, we will begin our descent into the heart of Tennessee, where the landscape transforms into the vibrant city known for its rich musical heritage and southern charm. As we get closer, we may see the iconic Mississippi River, which flows majestically through the city, playing a significant role in its history and culture.
Upon landing at Memphis International Airport, we will be welcomed by the vibrant atmosphere of this historic city, famous for its contributions to music, particularly Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, and Soul.
The Beale Street entertainment district, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the legendary Graceland are just a few highlights that await us.
