New Flight Crew Portal is coming!

From TPC Dev Team:

Member Profiles are coming to TPC!

Over the last couple of months, The Pilot Club has been moving web resources to a new web provider to mitigate the fact that many of our resources were scattered all over the place and Members needed to go to different websites (hosted by TPC) to be able to do various functions. That changes now!

We have determined that we need to create a resource for The Pilot Club members to call home. Hence, TPC Flight Crew Portal was born.

TPC Flight Crew Portal (FCP) will be the one stop shop for everything Members need to do related to TPC. We plan on making this website the focal point for TPC Members.

Some of these features include but are not limited to:

  • Member Profile Page will include Member Pic, their aircraft, and their server roles in the Club.

  • Flight tracking metrics showing participation in group flights.

  • TPC Leaderboard with better metrics than current.

  • A Live Map showing TPC Members online on VATSIM + other VATSIM stats.

  • Member Social Accounts (if connected). Great for streamers.

  • TPC Flight School progress indicator.

  • TPC Daily Updates.

  • TPC Callsign requests.

This awesome portal is not quite ready yet, as it is still in active development. We have a plan in place for how the portal will be rolled out, and what Members can expect.

Roll Out Schedule:

  • On or about 25 October 2023:

    • TCP will be released to TPC Early Adopters and Staff to help find any potential bugs so we can squash them.

Once the initial testing phase is complete:

    • We will be releasing TCP with minimal functionality to allow for the old Callsigns website to be retired, and to let Members have a better experience when it comes to creating a callsign and other basic profile functions.

    • At this time the current Flight Crew Lounge will be deactivated.

  • Post Release:

    • After we release the portal to all Members, we will continue to develop features and additions to FCP (some described above).

    • As we find that a feature is ready for testing, we will open it up to Early Adopters and Staff to test and find any bugs.

    • Once we have determined that a feature set (Multiple Features at once) is ready for Members use, we will deploy the changes and announce it in NOTAMS channel in Discord.

We are hoping this new portal will be a welcomed addition to the Club and will be the foundation for the future generations of TPC Pilots. The current TPC Public site will continue to serve as the front-facing TPC asset.

Should anyone have any questions, or wish to help in the development of TPC Flight Crew Portal, please reach out to webdev@thepilotclub.org or message Eric | TPC76 for more information.

Thank you for being a part of The Pilot Club!
